Lenox Square to host grand re-opening of Atlanta Police Department’s Zone 2 Substation on June 14

Buckhead Coalition President Sam Massell, Lenox Square representatives and APD officers on hand to mark the occasion

Lenox Square invites the Atlanta community to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Atlanta Police Department’s Zone 2 Substation on Wednesday, June 14. From 10 a.m. – noon, locals can enjoy complimentary light bites and refreshments while speaking with Atlanta Police Department officers and other representatives from the police force. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. During the ceremony, Major Shaw and Buckhead Coalition President Sam Massell will share how the Zone 2 Substation has improved the overall statistics in the area.

Lenox Square has always maintained a collaborative relationship with the Atlanta Police Department, and in 2003, the APD launched this 2,751 square-foot substation at Lenox Square. In recent years, upgrades have been made to further enhance safety for the property, surrounding businesses and community members. During the grand re-opening celebration, attendees will have the opportunity to take a tour of the upgraded substation, which features a new biometric lock system, improved electronic appliances and a workstation for law enforcement officers. Interior improvements made to the substation include upgraded lighting, painting and soft seating furniture, as well as wall décor featuring property maps and photographs.

In addition to these Zone 2 Substation improvements, Lenox Square has continued to work proactively to enhance its security measures to provide a safe environment for its guests and employees. These enhancements include: providing CCTV video surveillance footage of the property to the Atlanta Police Foundation’s Video Integration Center (VIC), increased security patrols with ATVs and bikes, the addition of the Security Sky Tower and APD Sky Tower, new high definition security cameras throughout the property and Inter Agency Communication through COMNET.
